HOA Spring Updates
Join us for the Monthly HOA meeting on Monday, March 23, 2026
Letters detailing the proposed amendment to the covenants were delivered to residents on March 6th. Each household is allowed 1 vote. A yes vote introduces flexibility for parking vehicles, whereas a no vote keeps the covenant the same, with vehicle parking limited to inside or behind the house. Submit your vote via any of the following ways:
Email: Send your name, address, and vote to: info@southcanyoncountryestates.org
Drop Off: Deliver your vote (name, address & yes or no) to the drop box at the Commons
In Person: Attend the meeting on March 23

Hippity hoppity Easter’s on its way!
Calling all kids to join the fun at the annual Easter egg hunt at the commons on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
The recreation committee will be busy stuffing hundreds of eggs and color-coding for big kids and little kids. They will have all kinds of goodies and treats for moms, dads, grandparents, friends, and family so bring the whole crew to the shelter. General mingling and catching up with your neighbors starts around 9:30 a.m. and the hunt is on at 10:00 a.m.
And don’t worry if there’s weather—the hunt has been had in the snow—the rec committee is prepared for just about anything!
There will be designated hunting grounds for little kids and big kids. Be sure to bring your own basket for treats and loot and be on the lookout for an extra special golden egg in each area.
It’s rumored that the big bunny himself could even make a surprise appearance so don’t forget your cameras.
Shelter Reservations: Open April 1, 2026
The SCCE commons area is one of the best features in the neighborhood and you can share these community amenities with your friends and family throughout the summer. Shelter reservations are available beginning in April and continue through September. Check the calendar for shelter availability and use the form to tentatively hold your reservation. For more information visit the Shelter Reservations page of the website.
Spring Clean Up: Saturday, May 16, 2026
Grab your gloves, drills, paintbrushes, rakes, and buckets, and bring the whole gang to the commons area to help with the Annual SCCE Spring Clean-Up Day!
Meet us at 9:00 a.m. at the picnic shelter for project assignments.
There are always plenty of projects–– and we’d love to see some new faces. Just an hour or two of your time will go a long way!
Crews are needed to help repair normal wear and tear and weather-damaged fences and buildings and to tidy up the grounds in general in anticipation of the summer season. This community effort keeps our development looking clean and fresh and is a great way to get to know your neighbors.
If you’d like to review the project list or discuss specifics in more detail, reach out to a board or committee member. They’ll make sure you get first dibs on the community beautification projects we have planned for this year.
If you can’t join us on the 16th but would like to help, please reach out to a board member. They will have a list of unfinished or remaining chores that can be assigned out.
We can’t wait to see you there… overhauls, work belts, and all!
Don’t miss your opportunity to connect with your SCCE friends and neighbors!
Paw Patrol : We Need Your Help!
Complaints related to excessive barking and dogs on the loose have increased over the past several months. We know you can’t keep ‘em quiet all the time, but please—talk to your neighbors if barking is a concern. It’s so much easier to address potential issues with a friendly conversation first. The alternatives are grumpy neighbors and a letter of complaint from the board. So again, talk first. Many problems can be resolved quickly and respectfully.
Pool Season Is Coming
Preparations to open the pool are underway. You can help with some of pool opening procedures during Clean Up Day on Saturday, May 16.
Weather permitting, the pool will open Friday, May 22, 2026.
Pool & Sports Court Security Fob
Last season, the board implemented a new security protocol to address concerns from homeowners that the pool has increasingly been used by non-residents. Each household received a key fob to access the pool and sports courts. If you are new to the community, please contact Misty to get your fob.
How do I get my fob?
By appointment with the SCCE Administrative Assistant
Please text Misty at 605-210-0405 for availability
Important things to keep in mind:
The security system is synced with pool hours from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm
Adult-only lap swim is from 9:00 am - 10:00 am
PLEASE be sure to gather ALL your belongings before the pool closes. Items left poolside after closing will not be accessible until the pool opens the following morning.
Guests must be accompanied by a resident. Please ask non-SCCE residents to leave if not accompanied by a resident.
For more information see the pool rules.
