Annual HOA Meeting & Potluck
The SCCE Annual HOA Meeting will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Doty Volunteer Fire Department.
Potluck starts at 6:00 pm
Meeting starts at 7:00 pm
In honor of the long-standing end-of-the-season tradition, SCCE will provide a main course, plates, silverware, and plenty of napkins.
Please bring your appetite and a dish to share– if your last name begins with:
A-E Side or heavy hors d’oeuvres
F-J Salad or heavy hors d’oeuvres
K-S Dessert
T-Z Main dish or heavy hors d’oeuvres
A 30-40 minute demonstration by the SD Department of Public Safety Wildland Fire will begin at 6:00 pm ahead of the Annual Meeting.
The first order of business will be to review and approve the Meeting Minutes from the 2025 Annual Meeting. You can find the DRAFT of the minutes taken at last year’s meeting here.
This is a great opportunity to catch up with friends and neighbors, potluck-style, and get an update on all the activities going on in the community at the annual homeowner’s meeting.
Shelter Reservations Closed for the Season
Shelter reservations are closed for the 2026 season. Reservations for next year can be made starting in April 2027. SCCE residents can book the shelter for events between Memorial Day, May 31, 2027, through Labor Day, September 6, 2027.
Paw Patrol : We Need Your Help!
Complaints related to excessive barking and dogs on the loose continue to be reported. We know you can’t keep ‘em quiet all the time, but please—talk to your neighbors if barking is a concern. It’s so much easier to address potential issues with a friendly conversation first. The alternatives are grumpy neighbors and a letter of complaint from the board. So again, talk first. Many problems can be resolved quickly and respectfully.
Another Pool Season in the Books
The pool closed as planned on Monday, September 7, and was followed by a successful end-of-the-season Bark and Splash swim for our furry SCCE residents.
As a reminder, fobs have been deactivated until next year. Please DO NOT enter the pool area during the winter months. Some water is left in the pool to prevent structural damage from ground pressure, to protect the surface finishes from drying and cracking, and to avoid costly repairs to plumbing and equipment caused by freezing and expansion. In the past, there have been reports of kids playing on the “ice” inside the fenced area (Yikes! That’s extremely dangerous!) Please talk with your family members– the pool is off limits until next season. We want everyone to stay safe!

What: Halloween Party
When: October 31, 5:30 pm
Where: SCCE Picnic Shelter
Bring your broomsticks and all those hungry little ghosts and goblins to the Picnic Shelter before you make the trick-or-treat rounds.
We’ll have pizza, spooky snacks, and drinks to kick off your night of Halloween mischief.
Stop by for a quick bite (vampires welcome), show off those costumes, and say hi to the spook-tacular Recreation Committee.

The Recreation Committee hosts several long-standing and very successful events that bring our community together each year. We are looking for an enthusiastic leader to help guide our existing and experienced team and help us think of new, fun ways to bring the community together!

If you are moving into the neighborhood, WELCOME! Be sure to reach out to SCCE Bookkeeping and provide your contact information so we can be sure to get you a welcome packet and get your water and HOA account set up.
